The CXLB73183 is a PFM boost type three-section lithium battery charging control integrated circuit that works from 2.7V to 6.5V. The CXLB73183 uses constant current and quasi-constant voltage mode to manage the battery charge, and integrates a reference voltage source, an inductor current detection unit, a battery voltage detection circuit and an off-chip field effect transistor drive circuit, etc. It has the advantages of few external components and simple circuit. When the input power is turned on, the CXLB73183 enters the charging state, controlling the off-chip N-channel MOSFET to be turned on, and the inductor current rises. When it rises to the upper limit set by the external current detection resistor, the off-chip N-channel MOSFET is turned off, the inductor current drops, and the inductor The energy in is transferred to the battery. When the inductor current drops to the lower limit set by the external current sense resistor, the off-chip N-channel MOSFET turns on again, and so on. When the BAT pin voltage first reaches the internal setting of 12.6V (typical), the CXLB73183 enters quasi-charge mode to charge the battery with a small current. Only when the BAT pin voltage reaches 12.6V for the second time, the charging process ends and the off-chip N-channel MOSFET remains off. When the BAT pin voltage drops to the recharge threshold, the CXLB73183 again enters the charge state. The maximum operating frequency of the CXLB73183 can reach 1MHz, and the operating temperature range is from -40 ℃ to +85 ℃. When the battery voltage is lower than the input voltage or the battery is short-circuited, the CXLB73183 continues to charge the battery with a smaller current under the joint action of the off-chip N-channel MOSFET and P-channel MOSFET to protect the battery. Other functions include chip enable input, status indication output, etc.
