The CXSU63154 series is a fixed frequency, constant current step-up DC/DC converter ideal for driving LEDs used in backlighting applications such as cellular phones, PDAs and digital cameras

The CXSU63154 series is a fixed frequency, constant current step-up DC/DC converter ideal for driving LEDs used in backlighting applications such as cellular phones, PDAs and digital cameras. Output voltage of up to 17.5V can be derived, therefore four white LEDs in series can be driven. Since an LED current can be set by an external resistor when LEDs are in-series connection, all white LEDs can be turned on equably. A network of two parallel legs with three in each LED can be also driven. Luminance of the LEDs is controlled by changing the duty cycle of a PWM signal applied to the CE pin. Efficiency is high with the low feedback reference voltage ensuring the RLED losses are minimal. In addition, an internal MOSFET with an RDSON of 2.0 Ω is used. A low profile and small board area solution can be achieved using a chip coil and an ultra small ceramic output capacitor (CL) of 0.22⎧F as a result of the high 1.0MHz switching frequency. The 'B' type of CXSU63154 has an additional fault detection circuit. If the LEDs are disconnected or damaged, excess or run away output voltage is prevented by stopping the drive of the internal MOSFET.

     CXSU63154系列是一款具有固定工作频率,恒定输出电流的升压型 DC/DC转换器芯片,非常适合作为移动电话, PDA, 数码相机等电子设备的背光LED的驱动。CXSU63154系列的输出电压可达到18V。当输入电压为3.2V时,CXSU63154系列芯片可驱动4个串连的LED。当输入电压为2.5V时,CXSU63154系列芯片可驱动双列并联的LED,其中每列串联3个LED。在CXSU63154系列的CE引脚上加一组PWM控制的信号可控制LED的亮度。CXSU63154系列有高达1.0MHz的工作频率,并且有很低的参考电压,极大的降低了功耗,具有很高的效率。另外, CXSU63154系列内置一个导通电阻2.0Ω的功率开关管,并且只用一个容值非常小的陶瓷电容(0.22uF)作为负载电容。CXSU63154系列的B型(正在开发)还内置一个故障检测电路。当输出电压过高时,通过反馈回路, 芯片内部的功率开关管会停止工作,可防止损坏LED。The CXSU63154 series is a fixed frequency, constant current step-up DC/DC converter ideal for driving LEDs used in backlighting applications such as cellular phones, PDAs and digital cameras.
