Internal Regulator low嘉泰姆
The JTM2234 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentlow嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containslow嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600Klow嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DClow嘉泰姆
performance.low嘉泰姆

Error Amplifierlow嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andlow嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenlow嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,low嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationlow嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. low嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-Startlow嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootinglow嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)low嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSlow嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanlow嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.low嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and Hiccuplow嘉泰姆
The JTM2234 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valuelow嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB islow嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV islow嘉泰姆
triggered, the JTM2234 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. Thislow嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averagelow嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect thelow嘉泰姆
regulator. The JTM2234 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition islow嘉泰姆
removed. low嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown low嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. Thelow嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then thelow嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remaininglow嘉泰姆
