CXLB73246 is a PFM boost type multi cell battery charging control integrated circuit that operates between 2.7V and 6.5V. CXLB73246 adopts constant current and quasi constant voltage mode (CVTM) for battery charging management. It integrates a reference voltage source, an inductor current detection unit, a control circuit, and an on-chip field-effect transistor drive circuit. It has the advantages of few external components and simple circuit. When the input power is turned on, CXLB73246 enters the charging state, controls the external N-channel MOSFET to conduct, and the inductance rises. When it rises to the upper limit set by the external current detection resistor, the external N-channel MOSFET is turned off, the inductance current decreases, and the energy in the inductance is transferred to the battery. When the inductor current drops to the lower limit set by the external current detection resistor, the off chip N-channel MOSFET conducts again, and so on. When the FB pin voltage reaches the internally set 1.205V (typical value) for the first time, CXLB73246 enters quasi constant voltage charging mode to charge the battery with a smaller current. The charging process only ends when the FB pin voltage reaches 1.205V for the second time, and the off chip N-channel MOSFET remains in the off state. When the FB pin voltage drops againWhen the charging threshold is reached, CXLB73246 enters the charging state again. The maximum operating frequency of CXLB73246 can reach 1MHz, and the operating temperature range is from -40 ℃ to+85 ℃. When the battery voltage is lower than the input voltage or the battery is short circuited, CXLB73246 continues to charge the battery with a smaller current under the joint action of the off chip N-channel MOSFET and P-channel MOSFET, playing a role in the batteryProtective function. Other functions include CMOS status indicator output terminal, etc. CXLB73246 adopts an 8-pin SOP8 package.
