CXLB73247A/B/C is a PFM boost dual lithium battery charging control integrated circuit operating from 4.5V to 6.5v. CXLB73247A/B/C uses constant current and quasi-constant voltage mode (CVTM) to charge and manage the battery. The drive circuit of channel field effect transistor and off-chip field effect transistor has the advantages of few external components and simple application. When the input power supply is turned on, CXLB73247A/B/C enters the charging state, and the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs are controlled to conduct, and the inductor current rises. When it rises to the upper limit of the inductor current, off-chip N-channel MOSFETs, the inductor current drops, and the energy in the inductor is transferred to the battery. When the inductor current drops to the lower limit, the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs turn on again and cycle like this. The inductor current (input current) in CXLB73247A/B/C constant current mode is set at 2.65A, 2A and 1A by the internal current detection resistor, or can be reduced by the external resistor. When the BAT pin voltage reaches 8.4V (typical value) for the first time, CXLB73247 enters the quasi-constant voltage charging mode, and the battery is charged with a smaller current.
Charging. In the quasi-constant voltage mode, when the BAT pin voltage reaches 8.4V, the charging process ends and the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs remain off condition. When the BAT pin voltage drops to the recharge threshold, it enters the charging state again.
When the battery voltage is lower than the input voltage, CXLB73247A/B/C continues to charge the battery with a small current, which protects the battery. Other functions include Chip Enable input, die over-temperature protection, battery temperature monitoring function and status indication conforming to JEITA standard, etc. CXLB73247A/B/C adopts 8-pin heat dissipation enhanced SOP package.

CXLB73247A/B/C is a PFM boost dual lithium battery charging control integrated circuit operating from 4.5V to 6.5v. CXLB73247A/B/C uses constant current and quasi-constant voltage mode (CVTM) to charge and manage the battery. It is internally integrated with reference voltage source, current detection resistor, inductance current detection unit, battery voltage detection circuit, P-channel field effect transistor and off-chip field effect transistor drive circuit have the advantages of less external components and simple application.
