CXLB73256 is a PFM boost type multi cell nickel hydrogen battery charging control integrated circuit that operates between 2.7V and 6.5V, capable of charging and managing 4 to 12 nickel hydrogen batteries. CXLB73256 adopts constant current mode and maintenance charging mode for battery charging management. It integrates a reference voltage source, an inductor current detection unit, a battery voltage detection circuit, and an off chip field-effect transistor drive circuit. It has the advantages of fewer external components and simple circuit. When accessing inputAfter entering the power supply, CXLB73256 enters a constant current charging state, controlling the conduction of the external N-channel MOSFET and increasing the inductor current. When it reaches the upper limit set by the external current detection resistor, the external N-channel MOSFET is turned off, the inductor current decreases, and the energy in the inductor is transferred to the battery. When the inductor current drops to the lower limit set by the external current detection resistor, the off chip N-channel MOSFET conducts again, and so on. When the FB pin voltage reaches 1.125V (typical value), CXLB73256 enters sustain charging mode, and the input current decreases to 66% of the constant current state, while starting the internal timer. When the internal timing ends or the FB pin voltage reaches 1.205V, the charging process ends, and the off chip N-channel MOSFET remains in the off state. When the FB pin voltage drops to the recharge threshold (1.105V), CXLB 73256 enters the charging state again. The maximum operating frequency of CXLB73256 can reach 1MHz, and the operating temperature range is from -40 ℃ to+85 ℃. When the battery voltage is lower than the input voltage or the battery is short circuited, CXLB 73256 has an off chip N-channelUnder the combined action of MOSFET and P-channel MOSFET, a smaller current is used to continue charging the battery, providing protection for the battery. Other functions include chip enable input, status indication output, etc. CXLB73256 adopts a 10 pin SSOP10 package.
