CXLB73246 is a PFM boost multi-cell charge control integrated circuit working on 2.7V to 6.5v. CXLB73246 adopts constant current and quasi-constant voltage mode (CVTM) to charge and manage the battery. The internal integration includes reference voltage source, inductor current detection unit, control circuit and off-chip field effect transistor drive circuit, etc, it has the advantages of few external components and simple circuit.
When the input power supply is turned on, CXLB73246 enters the charging state, and the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs are controlled to conduct and the inductance is increased. When it rises to the upper limit set by the external current detection resistor, the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs are turned off and the inductance current decreases, the energy in the inductor is transferred to the battery. When the inductor current drops to the lower limit of the external current detection resistor setting, the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs turn on again, thus cycling. When the FB pin voltage reaches the 1.205V (typical value) set internally for the first time, CXLB73246 enters the quasi-constant voltage charging mode and charges the battery with a small current. Only when the FB pin voltage reaches 1.205V for the second time, the charging process ends and the off-chip N-channel MOSFETs remain off condition. When the FB pin voltage drops again
When the charging threshold is reached, CXLB73246 enters the charging state again. The maximum operating frequency of CXLB73246 can reach 1MHz, and the operating temperature ranges from-40℃ to + 85℃. When the battery voltage is lower than the input voltage or the battery is short-circuited, CXLB73246 continue to charge the battery with a small current under the combined action of off-chip N-channel MOSFETs and P-channel MOSFETs, which plays a role in the battery
Protective effect. Other functions include the output of the CMOS status indicator. CXLB73246 uses 8-pin SOP8 package.
