an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KJoi嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCJoi嘉泰姆

Error AmplifierJoi嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andJoi嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenJoi嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,Joi嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationJoi嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. Joi嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartJoi嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingJoi嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)Joi嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSJoi嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanJoi嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.Joi嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupJoi嘉泰姆
The JTM2234 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueJoi嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isJoi嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isJoi嘉泰姆
triggered, the JTM2234 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisJoi嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageJoi嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theJoi嘉泰姆
regulator. The JTM2234 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isJoi嘉泰姆

Startup and Shutdown Joi嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. TheJoi嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theJoi嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingJoi嘉泰姆
