When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power supply) is powered down, CXLB73216 automatically enters the sleep mode with low power consumption, and the current consumption of the battery is less than 0.1 µA. Built-in anti-backflow protection circuit, when the battery voltage is higher than the input voltage, the built-in power MOSFETs are automatically turned off. Other functions include low input voltage latching, automatic recharging, built-in battery temperature monitoring, and indication of charging status/end of charging status. CXLB73216 uses 8-pin small shape package ESOP-8 with enhanced heat dissipation.

CXLB73216 is a charger circuit that can charge a single rechargeable lithium battery with constant current/constant voltage. The device includes a power transistor inside, and no external current detection resistor and blocking diode are required during application. CXLB73216 requires only a few peripheral components and complies with USB bus technical specifications. It is very suitable for portable applications. The thermal modulation circuit can control the chip temperature within a safe range when the power consumption of the device is relatively large or the ambient temperature is relatively high. The internal fixed constant voltage charging voltage is 4.35V, which can also be adjusted by an external resistor. The charging current is set by an external resistor.
