1. Product Overview
CXLE88177C is a high-performance driver integrated circuit designed for LED display panels. The chip uses advanced CMOS technology, integrated shift register and latch function, can efficiently convert serial input data into parallel output signal, suitable for all kinds of LED display and lighting system. 2. core features
2.1. 16 channel constant current output
The CXLE88177C provides 16 constant current outputs, each current can be accurately adjusted in the range of 3mA ~ 36mA, suitable for a variety of LED configuration requirements. The output port has a high withstand voltage of 11V to ensure reliability in complex working environments.
2.2. High precision current control
The chip has excellent current consistency, with channel-to-channel error ≤ ± 2.0% and chip-to-chip error ≤ ± 3.0%. The user can accurately set the output current through the external resistor (REXT) to achieve fine control of the LED brightness.
2.3. High-speed data transmission and response

• SDI (Serial Data Input)Receive serial data signal, Schmitt buffer input.
• CLK (shift clock): Control the timing of data shift, the rising edge is valid.
• LE (Latch enable): Control the timing of data latch, data is transferred to the latch when high level.
• OE (Output enable): Enable the output at low level, and turn off the output at high level.
• R-EXT (external resistor): Used to set the output current size, connected to GND.

6. Typical Application Circuit
The chip can be flexibly cascaded, suitable for large-size LED display modules. The typical application diagram shows the cascade of multi-chip CXLE88177C, which is connected to the SDI of the next chip through SDO to realize the serial transmission of data. The output current can be calculated by the following formula:

Among them, RIREFR-EXT pin-to-ground resistance. For example, when the resistance is 600Ω, the output current is about 29.5mA; when the resistance is 1kΩ, the current is about 17.7mA.

7. Constant Current Characteristics and Design Suggestions
The chip can maintain a stable constant current output under different VDS voltages. Attention should be paid to the voltage drop at the OUTX end in the design to avoid the driving current not meeting the standard due to insufficient voltage. At the same time, it is not advisable to keep the output port in a high pressure drop state for a long time, so as to prevent the chip from overheating and affecting the stability of the system.
7.1. Layout recommendations: In order to reduce electromagnetic interference, it is recommended to arrange the CXLE88177C as close to the LED module as possible to shorten the length of the signal trace.
7.2. Constant current
The R-EXT pin is connected to GND with different resistance values to obtain different constant currents at the output of the OUT pin, but different constant currents enter the constant current.
