The CXLB73224 is a complete single-cell Li-ion battery charger with positive and negative battery reverse connection protection and constant current/constant voltage linear control. An internal PMOSFET architecture is used, plus anti-refill circuitry, so no external isolation diodes are required. The charging voltage is fixed at 4.2V with an accuracy of 1%. The charging current can be set through an external resistor, and the maximum charging can reach 1.2A. The integrated over-temperature protection inside the chip can automatically adjust the charging current to limit the chip temperature under high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The chip has a battery temperature detection pin, which can control the charging of the chip by detecting the NTC resistance of the external battery pack; when the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power supply) is dropped, the CXLB73224 automatically enters a low current state, and the battery leakage drops below 1uA. When there is a power supply, it can also be placed in shutdown mode to reduce the supply current to 65uA. Other features of the CXLB73224 include undervoltage lockout, overvoltage protection, 2.5V trickle charge and two LED states to indicate charge and end.
