The CXLB73223 is a complete single-cell Li-ion battery charger with positive and negative battery reverse connection protection and constant current/constant voltage linear control. An internal PMOSFET architecture is used, plus anti-refill circuitry, so no external isolation diodes are required. The charging voltage is fixed at 4.2V with an accuracy of 1%. The charging current can be set through an external resistor, and the maximum charging can reach 0.5A. The integrated over-temperature protection inside the chip can automatically adjust the charging current to limit the chip temperature under high-power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. When the input voltage (AC adapter or USB power supply) is removed, the CXLB73223 automatically enters a low current state and the battery leakage drops below 1uA. When there is a power supply, it can also be placed in shutdown mode to reduce the supply current to 65uA.
