The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-up
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. Power
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less than
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltage
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency at
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input and
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effect
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.

1)General DescriptionZQb嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.ZQb嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highZQb嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aZQb嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theZQb嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthZQb嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canZQb嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theZQb嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.ZQb嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation ZQb嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakZQb嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aZQb嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachZQb嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andZQb嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumZQb嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorZQb嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theZQb嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlZQb嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichZQb嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theZQb嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.ZQb嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification ZQb嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toZQb嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forZQb嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isZQb嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theZQb嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheZQb嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSZQb嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesZQb嘉泰姆
