The CXMD32120 is a brushed DC motor driver for printers, appliances, industrial equipment, and other small machines. Two logic inputs control the H-bridge driver, which consists of four N-MOS and can control the motor bidirectionally with a peak current of up to 3.6A. With the current decay mode, the motor speed can be controlled by pulse width modulating (PWM) the input. If both inputs are set low, the motor drive will enter a low-power sleep mode. CXMD32120 integrated current limit function, which is based on the voltage of the analog input VREF and the ISEN pin. The device limits current to a known level, which significantly reduces system power requirements and eliminates the need for bulk capacitors to maintain a stable voltage, especially when the motor starts and stops. The internal shutdown function includes over-current protection, short-circuit protection, under-voltage lockout and over-temperature protection.
